God’s Call and Our Response

January 2010:  The Chicago Consultation’s publication “God’s Call and Our Response,” considers theological and historical perspectives on the Episcopal Church’s process of electing and consenting to bishops. The essays are intended as a resource for reflection Resolution D025 of the 2009 General Convention, which affirms both the Episcopal Church’s commitment to continue its participation in the Anglican Communion and its understanding that God may call to any order of ministry a person living in a lifelong, committed monogamous same-sex union.
